ABOUT US (ME) The fact is we don't have any international headquarters, corporate buildings, or a massive mechanical operation. The business is owned, run, and made by me. Just me and two dogs, who are the sounding board for all my work and they usually gives solid support, when not chewing the wood. How did this business come about? Well, I served in the US Air Force for 4 years during Viet Nam, graduated from college, worked in aerospace for many, many years and did genealogy and woodworking as a hobbies. When I got lung cancer in 1998, I had a successful operation to remove part of my lung, and had some time to think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. The emphasis was on enjoyment. I decided to do my genealogy research and do woodworking. I started working with mesquite here in the desert because it was readily available. The mesquite is a beautiful wood and as I researched it, I found out it is indeed unique. It is referred to as "the tree of life" and contains the legendary lucky wood spirits. I figured we all could use some luck in our lives and started doing all my work with the local mesquite. I started with the walking sticks and then started making pendants, ear rings, key chains, and mobiles. To enhance the mystique of the mesquite wood I also use local Colorado River driftwood, mesquite pods, and feathers. All the work is done by hand and done with a deep appreciation for what the mesquite embodies. It is personally a joy to work with it. Each item is hand crafted, not rushed, and done with a reverence for the what the mesquite can give us. Folks requested woodburnings on the mesquite products, and as a result I made the transition into pyrography and then got more and more involved with it. I still make all the handcrafted mesquite items, but have also expanded my work into woodburning on different types of wood, including: pine, birch, juniper, poplar, cottonwood, and others. I feel as if the life energy is put back into the wood as the burned images appear. Burning CAN be a good thing. I enjoy doing custom work, and if you need more
